Life is never a smooth road in which one can travel with ease, there are always up and downs and it is only the attitude and feelings towards it that makes the ride enjoyable.
An article by Jim Rohn in success.com compares the difficult periods in life to the changing weathers and says that the seasons cannot be changed. 'But you can change yourself. So the first major lesson in life to learn is how to handle the winters. They come regularly, right after autumn. Some are long, some are short, some are difficult, some are easy, but they always come right after autumn. That is never going to change,' it states.
There are different types of winter, the economic winter, social winter, personal winter and the winter which cannot be figured out at all.
Though these periods might bring disappointments, it is common to all of us. There is always going to be a difficult time soon after every opportunity and we must learn how to handle them.
Well then comes the big question how to handle it? Instead of trying to avoid the problem we should be prepared to face them and the important ingredients are being strong, wise and better.
The author admits that he used to wish that things were easier which changed later. 'My mentor Earl Shoaff gave me the answer from a part of his unique philosophy when he said, 'Don't wish it were easier, wish you were better. Don't wish for fewer problems, wish for more skills. Don't wish for less challenge, wish for more wisdom.'
