At times as a candidate in an interview, a few things can be very annoying.
For example, when the recruiter asks for where are your working now can look stupid, as it would have already been mentioned in the resume.
However, behind every annoying move, there is a legitimate reason.
* A common habit with recruiters is that they ask for extra copies of resume even after sending it already.
The reality is that most hiring managers need hard copies. While this would inconvenience to the candidate, it would move the process along more quickly for them.
* Recruiters mostly do not keep their word, when they say they will follow-up something.
This happens because putting together next steps in an interview often involves coordinating lots of schedules and discussing a few things about the candidate
If a recruiter goes silent for a couple weeks, don’t be afraid to send an email to check in. But instead of placing blame, ask additional questions related to the job.
* At times the scheduled interview may be postponed due to unavoidable reasons, sometimes due to a final call for meeting, health problems or some thing that just came up.
Rescheduling does not necessarily mean that you have to cancel all your other plans to come on the proposed schedule
You can always check your calender and ask the recruiter if it is okay to come on a day that you are free.
* To be honest recruiters may not have the answers to the questions that the candidates ask. Which is why they either skip it or refuse to answer.
If someone is honest with you and says they don’t have that information, don’t worry—you’ll meet with plenty of other people in the team who will know the answers.
Job hunting can be incredibly frustrating and it is always helpful to have a little insight into what's going on.
Recruiters are also people, and they also tend to make mistakes and can be annoying sometimes, the above tips can help you deal things in a better manner.
